Sight Seeing: The Queens Official Birthday

Hello my lovelies 

I spent the weekend in London celebrating my 20th birthday :) 

Me and my family got up to a lot of things and made the most of being in the capital for a couple of days. On the Saturday we went to watch Trooping of the Colour, which is the celebrations of the Queens official birthday which happens every year on a Saturday in June. We walked down the Mall and the police presents and security was massive! We got to the Mall just in time as we saw all the guards on horse back come through and then got a quick peak at the Queen herself in the carriage! This was a highlight for me as I have never seen the Queen and was nice to see her on my birthday weekend!  

We then left the Mall and headed to Tower Bridge as they were having a 62 gun salute at 1 and we thought that would be better to see then watch the Queen from a far again. Watching the guns go off makes we realise the power they have and how much damage they could do! 

After all the celebrations we went for a walk around Shoreditch and went for a wonder around Brick Land to see some of the street art! I really didn't realise how amazing the art was and the scale of it. You cant really see it when you walk past, you have to take a step back to really appreciate it at its best :) these were just a few of my favourites!  

We then when to Tower Hill and the Shard for dinner and a drink which was really lovely! However, just a word of warning the Shard has a dress code so if you want to go in make sure you look smart :P 

I really do love London as a city and I am so pleased that I am able to spend more time down there as my boyfriend is at university down there! I love doing touristy things and finding new little places :)

Week 4 and it's a bit of a celebration this week! This week my family has 3 birthdays in 2 days :P tomorrow it's my Dad's and I wanted to dedicate this song to him :) ever since I was little our song has always been 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA! For the 2000 New Years we were at a local party and when this song came on I grabbed my Dads hands and pulled him up to dance with me :) whenever I go out and it comes on I always have the biggest smile on my face because reminds me of him :) so I would like to say happy birthday to him and I hope you like this classic :)

Fast Food Birthday Cake

Hello again

So on Tuesday it was my boyfriend’s birthday, he isn’t the biggest fan of cake or stuff like that so instead of baking him a cake, we decided that we would make a fast food cake for his party! He loves fast food and thought this would be quite fun and a bit different :) we got the inspiration from Epic Meal Time who are massive on YouTube and do things like this just a bit better :P 

We have been planning this for a long time and deciding what we needed in it and what would make the best fillers! It was quite pricey to make but when you think it fed 15 hungry teenagers, so not too bad. Matty’s favourite fast food is chicken so we included a lot of chicken based products and pizzas :)

To start off with we went to Morrisons and bought 2 of their 14in pizzas, one was pepperoni and the other was spicy chicken, these would work as the base and middle to keep its shape and so we could stack it higher :) we also bought mozzarella, bacon and nachos! Before we bought the other stuff we cooked the pizzas and bacon (bacon was put into sheets) so they only had to be heated and so we knew they were properly cooked!  

 After they were cooked we then went on our mission to buy the fast food. Around where we live we are quite limited to the fast food so we only went to KFC and McDonalds! We got popcorn chicken and chicken strips from KFC, then drove round and bought 2 large fries, 5 piece chicken select, 5 cheeseburgers and 20 chicken nuggets! It all smelt so good and really made me super hungry! 

Then was the building stage! I have done a vlog on this which will be up in a couple of days if you want to see it being made :) Chicken pizza was first which we placed on a tray and tinfoil. Then there was a layer of bacon, the burgers, popcorn chicken, fries and cheese. Then more bacon, pepperoni pizza, bacon, chicken nuggets, selects, strips and fries with nachos and cheese to finish it off! It looked amazing and turned out a lot better than we had planed :)

This was all done before people arrived and we just put it in the oven. When everyone had arrived we just turned the oven on and let it warm through :) when it came out the oven it did look incredible and much better than planned which is always good!

We served up which was quite easy and just enjoyed the goodness :) some people ate it layer by layer then others tried to eat it as a pie! It tasted just like the individual food would but meant you had a bit of everything on your plate! The whole pie was eaten and everyone enjoyed it :)  

It was so fun to make and was really fun to do for the party :) everyone was talking about it and think it definably made the evening one to remember! I wouldn’t do it all the time because it’s nice as a one off but I will be making it again in the future for sure!!!

My 19th Birthday

Hello again :)

So on Thursday it was my 19th birthday, I was so glad to have my birthday at home so I could spend the day with family, which is my favourite thing to do. On my first we went to Newcastle for day and had a shop round the Metrocentre which I love doing because I've been there so many times and just love being back in Newcastle :) 

I have a small family so these are my cards I received from family members, all so cute and with the loveliest messages inside. 

These were my presents, which I have to say I'm in love with all of them :) I got a 6 month subscription to Glossy Box (this will be my next blog), testers on the Benefit skin care from my boyfriend, which I'm very excited to test, Vlogging book for dummies as I've just started my YouTube channel, DVD called 'Second hand lions' which is one of my favourite films and Muji boxes for my make-up. I can't wait to use them all, I feel like a very lucky girl :) 

I thought I should take a better picture of the Muji boxes because they are just so lovely :) when my mum ordered them the stacks of the wide storage had sold out, so instead she bought me 5 individual ones, which I prefer because I can stack them in different ways and can buy more if needed. I don't have a very big make-up selection so 5 draws was enough for me at the moment but I'm sure i'll be adding to the collection soon :) 

I also got a Zara bag from their basic collection however, this is from their winter range because my mum had bought it for me for Christmas but had forgot to wrap it up so instead gave it as a birthday present. I have to say I love this bag, I have used it very day and it's just the perfect size to fit everything in and can be used for many things, so I'm very glad her found it :)

For my birthday I picked what we were having for tea, and this was a easy decision. My favourite meal of all time (except maybe Sunday dinner) is chicken soaked in lemon which pita's and salad. It's such a lovely summer meal and I just love it!! 

After tea we had the traditional Scott birthday cake that my mum makes. It's just a dairy milk cake with cream, but omg this cake is the best thing known to man. And I just love birthdays because I know this will be made. Mine had strawberries because they are in season and on my brothers and dad's cake they have orange :)

  

I had the most amazing day and I'm so thankful for my family for making my birthday so special :)
