November GlossyBox...in December

Hello again, long time no speak

I'm so sorry that I haven't blogged in over a month, I found it a lot harder then I thought to blog at university and when it came to the end of term with essays and exams to think about I just couldn't sit down and think of thinks to blog about :( I am going to try my hardest and get back into more of a routine!

As I have been at university and haven't been home since October I have just received my November GlossyBox :) this is my last one as my subscription has ran out and I'm not continuing with subscription boxes straight away as I want to use all my testers up!

This month was a Wishlist idea and in the mini magazine you had all the things that were on peoples wishlists for winter and Christmas!

Vinchy Idealia Life Serum - These were the main product of the month. 3 small testers of the range in really sweet packaging. It sells itself as an all round skin saviour helping your skin against stress, pollution, smoke and unbalanced diet which round Christmas is the perfect thing. I'm really excited to try this out and see if I can see a difference from my normal skin care routine. Full size £29.50

Elegant Touch nail polish remover pads - Handy pack of nail polish remover, perfect for on the go and travelling. These are acetone free and moisturise the nails instead of stripping them like some nail polish removers. As I have been travelling more and going away from weekends these are perfect just to put in my bag so I change take my nail polish off if it starts to look a bit scratty. 20 pads for £2

Yves Richer France hand cream - cocoa and orange hand cream with an ultra moisturising formula. It smells amazing and makes your hands feel lovely :) I have been keeping this by my side over the last couple of days as the weather has got colder and getting ready for Christmas I just feel like I have needed this! Full size - £1.95 (bargain)

Emite Make Up micronized eyeshadow in Dams - These is free of oil, nickel, parabens and perfume which is perfect for my sensitive and oily skin type. It creates an even and lasting result. As its a very neutral colour I think I will be getting a lot of use out of this colour as it will be so easy to wear! The eye lash curlers I received in my GlossyBox I adore so think I will like this just as much :) the prize did shock me though! Each colour £16.80

GOSH velvet touch lipstick in 148 sundown - an intense and long-lasting colour to the lips due to high concentration of colour pigments. I have never tried an orange lipstick because I have been worried it might look a bit strange on me :P but I think as I have now been given one this might make an appearance in the spring/summer :) Full size £6.49

I am very sad this is my last box because I have loved the surprise very month to see what I have received and even sadder because this has been such a good box! I think I will get so much use out of all these products :) I think when it comes back round to my birthday I will be asking for advice on which subscription box is the best and get another 6 months!!

If you want to see what were in my other boxes their reviews are here:

I promise I will be blogging more from now on because I have missed you all and missed reading everyone else's posts :)

London Haul

Hello again my sweets,

Last week I had a reading week for uni so treated myself to a long weekend in London visiting my boyfriend :) I had such a lovely time and was nice to spend some proper time together :)
As I was in London we had to go for a shopping day and I spoilt myself and bought some things I have wanted for ages!!

My favourite street is Carnaby Street and it made me very happy that the Christmas decorations were up, I love it in cities when everything looks so festive :)

If you saw my university room tour you will have seen my collection of Dunny's on my window sill! As we walked passed Forbidden Planet it would be rude of me not to buy another :P I bought one from the 2012 collection and Matty bought one from the Apocalypse which he kindly gave to me, I have been really lucky that I haven't picked the same one twice as its completely random which one you get :) I really like these two as they are really colourful but really different!

I have been on the hunt for a really nice purple lipstick for winter and we went into a MAC store and I just fell in love with this colour. Its called 'Rebel' and is a pinky purple tone, not as dark as I was orginally wanting but I think its more wearable and suits me more :) I think this and my dark red will be my go to lipsticks for the next couple of months! One thing that did shock me is MAC lipsticks are now £15!! When did that happen??

Johnny Cupcakes is one of my favourite places to visit in London, they always have the coolest tshirts and sweaters! I bought a top when I was last in London but I have been wanting the classic sweater for ages now so I bite the bullet and got it :) it is the comfiest jumper I have and I have just totally fallen in love :) its a bit to big but that's how I wanted it to be as I love baggy jumpers!!

We had both heard great things about a burger place in Covent Gardens so we thought we would try it out and have an early dinner there! We weren't to sure what it was called but found it out it was shake shack! I have to say it was so nice and so filling, I practically had to roll back :) it was set out as a take out service so you order at the counter and picked up from a window and took it to your seat. The burgers were amazing and the cheesy chips were so good :) we didn't try the special drinks they did but they sounds amazing and think I might try one next time we are around Convent Gardens :)

I love London and want to make the most of it when Matty's at university there so think I will be having a lot of trips there in the next couple of years :)

Any places you would recommend us visiting in London?

For week 6 I have picked Little Comets, I feel in love with this band when I met them at Culture Shock around 7 years ago! They were just the nicest lads and I remember dancing around in the crowd to this song :) I love all their songs and hopefully seeing them again next February which should be amazing!!

For week 7 I have chosen London Grammar, my flatmates are in love with them and have started getting me into them more :) also thought as I have been in London the past couple of days it was be good timing to add them in now :) really enjoyed listening to their music and getting more into it!

Both bands have done so well to take off and really hope you enjoy listening to them

Liz Earle Skin Care Pack

Hello again my sweets,

Before I went back to university in September I treated myself to this Liz Earle skincare essentials pack. There was one for dry skin and one for oily. I went for the dry because as winter is upon us my skin really does suffer from it so I thought the dry would be best at saving it :)

The pack cost around £50 and in it you received their famous Cleanse and Polish with Hot Clothes, Skin Tonic, Repair Moisturiser and two small testers of their body wash and body cream :) all the products smell amazing and really fresh which I love! When I use them in the morning they wake me up and set me up for the day! Since using them I have really seen a change in my skin and its haven't been as affect by the cold weather like it was last year!

I forgot to include one of the small testers in the photo because it was in my other skin care bag! I love that it comes with its own carry case so when I go somewhere for weekends I can just put everything I need in it and its all together :) I have fallen in love with all the products but I have to say I think the cleanse polish and skin tonic are my favourite :)

At the moment they are doing Christmas packages which are very similar to this one and I think the same price just come in more of a Christmas form, so if you like the sound of this go check that out :)

What's your favourite Liz Earle product?

Great British Bake Off

Hello again my sweets,

I can't believe its November today, but I have to say I am very excited for Christmas :D

Last weekend I went home and as me and mum always do we did some baking :) so I thought I would show you some of the creations we made! I have to also admit that they were all consumed by my family because they were so good :)

The first thing we made was Cheese scones for breakfast :) I made fruit scones all the time at work and would admit I have mastered the art of them but never made cheese scones! We put so much cheese inside them and they were cooked to perfection :P and have so say a great way to start the day with lots of butter :)

We didn't want to bake any cakes because we never eat them all so thought cookies and biscuits would be the way forward :) these were just simple chocolate drop cookies but we put Terry's chocolate orange in them which I have to say really did make them :P We baked them on a large tray but when they came out they had just turned into one massive cookie so that's why they looked a bit hacked but just proves they really are homemade cookies!

Mum loves peanut butter and I have just started to eating it as well so we thought we would make some simple peanut butter squares which just really consist of peanut butter, icing sugar and chocolate :P and as you can guess this made them pretty sicky sweet so we couldn't really eat a lot of it without feeling ill :P the mixture also got stuck to the glass contained so these also look very home made :P

My boyfriend came over on the Sunday so we just bought a Ginger bread man kit from Morrisons and baked them as they are one of his favourite things :) saying it was a bought mix it was really nice and I think they turned out well! I had some problems cutting and transferring them onto the tray but for first timers it went well :) I would like to point out that my Boyfriend is doing Illustration at university but I was better at icing them :P

If you want any of the recipes just ask and I will find them out from my mum because I would recommend all of them :)

What's your favourite thing to bake? Which do you like to look of out of the ones we cooked?

Yesterday was my Uncles wedding, was such a lovely day and was so nice seeing family :) this week I have picked Robbie Williams, Angels because it was their first dance! This is also one of my favourite Robbie songs and me and mum all sing our hearts out to it :) its one of them songs you just have to sing and its stuck in your head for weeks! As you can properly tell by now my music taste is quite varied :P hope your still enjoying my songs

Kurt Geiger Problem

Hello again me sweets,

So I have a confession, I think I might have a Kurt Geiger problem! I think I might be obsessed with his shoes!!! I when shopping at the weekend with my mum looking for black ankle boots for winter and some how ended up in the the Kurt Geiger shop :P I would like to point out I think I have a problem because these are my 5th pair of Kurt Geiger and yes they have all been in the sale section but no student should think 5 pairs is acceptable :P

I have to say these are the nicest I have seen and they don't have the slits in which some boots do! I know this is the fashion but I like to think I am a practical girl :P by buying these shoes it has meant I can wear them in all weather because if it rains my feet will be dry unlike the other boots I was looking at! Also I am the type of person to wear something all the time and get my moneys worth so I don't really mind spending a little bit more on shoes which will last me a bit longer :)

I have to say I am my pleased with them and think they will turn into my favourite shoes this winter :)

What do you guys think? Do you have a shop like this where you have a soft spot?

Week 4 and it's a bit of a celebration this week! This week my family has 3 birthdays in 2 days :P tomorrow it's my Dad's and I wanted to dedicate this song to him :) ever since I was little our song has always been 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA! For the 2000 New Years we were at a local party and when this song came on I grabbed my Dads hands and pulled him up to dance with me :) whenever I go out and it comes on I always have the biggest smile on my face because reminds me of him :) so I would like to say happy birthday to him and I hope you like this classic :)

October GlossyBox

Hello again my sweets,

This is my second to last GlossyBox until I need to decided if I stay with these or change to a different subscription box, so I need your help! What do you guys suggest and which company do you think are the best?

This month the theme was 'Dark Romance' which I think is quite fitting as the days are getting shorted and winter is setting in! I think this winter will be the coldest for me as being a student I doubt I'll be able to afford heating :P

At first glance I wasn't overly pleased with the box this month because I feel once again they have sent me similar products that I have already received before and there isn't the variation I was hoping for :/ however when I read more in the products themselves I thing there are a couple which I might really enjoy :) once again I received a Glossy mag which just has some information about the GlossyBox HQ and some other products! I like this little bonus as it has some good stuff in :)

Broadway Nails - I'm not a massive fan of fake nails as I find them a pain to apply and normally to long that I cant do anything when I'm wearing them! However these are easy apply that you just stick them on and they will last a week! These are also medium length which I think will work well for me :) just a glitter French polish which I think I might try out around Christmas when I want nice nails and not worry about chipping :) - Pack from £7.99

Premae Multi-Vit Serum - I think this might have been the product I was most excited about when I opened the box because I have never used a serum before so thought it would be nice to try one out just also this is aimed at combination skin which mine is :) it says it soothe redness and hydrate skin which is all I want! But also keeps skin matte and shine free :)  you use it before your moisturiser morning and night! - 50ml £22.50

Monu Illuminating Primer - When it comes to primers I have no idea which ones are good and which are rubbish, so hopefully testing out a higher end one compared to some I have used in the past will show me their real power :) this one protects from UV damage and enhances your natural complexion :) you can wear it on its own or under make-up :) - 50ml £24.95

MeMeMe Cherub's Blush - This is a cheek and lip tint which is long lasting and easy to apply :) you can use it to add colour on your cheeks and lips going from day to night :) I like the idea of these but I have used Benefits one before and couldn't get the hang of it! I know people love these and swear by them so I might give it another go and see if I can master the art of liqued blusher :P - Full size £5.50

Katy Perry Killer Queen Fragrance - I love trying new smells and finding new perfumes however the bottle you get for this is enough for one or two wears and I guess you could get these free anyways! They say its a playful fragrance however I don't think with this size bottle you could get a real sense of it! I live so close to Fenwicks I normally pop in and try new smells so I could have just done that for this product! Think I might just pop it in my bag and use it for emergence use :P - 50ml £29.50

So thats it, October box done! Overall I think theres some good stuff but not my favourite box I have received! I'll have to see what November brings and see which company I sign up for in December but if any of you like a different company please let me know :)

Week 3 and I thought I would pick a less depressing one :P Jay Z is one of my favourite artists and I just love everything he does plus he is married to the fittest girl ever :P I thought I would do a Jay Z song this week as he was spotted on the London underground on Saturday at Waterloo and my boyfriend was gutted because he lives down there but was visiting me for the weekend! I have no idea what I would do if I saw Jay Z just chilling at Waterloo!!!! I saw him and Kanye West a couple of years ago and was one of the best nights ever, he is such a good performer and how he raps like that live is insane :) love this song and the music video is good as well, so I hope you enjoy this weeks pick :)
