14 Weeks of Melodies - Week 6 and 7

Hello again my sweets,

I'm really sorry I didn't post last week, I wasn't feeling to great at the start of the week then I've been in London for the last couple of days so I've had to combine 2 weeks together.

For week 6 I have picked Little Comets, I feel in love with this band when I met them at Culture Shock around 7 years ago! They were just the nicest lads and I remember dancing around in the crowd to this song :) I love all their songs and hopefully seeing them again next February which should be amazing!! 

For week 7 I have chosen London Grammar, my flatmates are in love with them and have started getting me into them more :) also thought as I have been in London the past couple of days it was be good timing to add them in now :) really enjoyed listening to their music and getting more into it!

 

Both bands have done so well to take off and really hope you enjoy listening to them

I seem to be having a lot of family celebrations at the moment! Yesterday was my Uncles wedding, was such a lovely day and was so nice seeing family :) this week I have picked Robbie Williams, Angels because it was their first dance! This is also one of my favourite Robbie songs and me and mum all sing our hearts out to it :) its one of them songs you just have to sing and its stuck in your head for weeks! As you can properly tell by now my music taste is quite varied :P hope your still enjoying my songs

Week 3 and I thought I would pick a less depressing one :P Jay Z is one of my favourite artists and I just love everything he does plus he is married to the fittest girl ever :P I thought I would do a Jay Z song this week as he was spotted on the London underground on Saturday at Waterloo and my boyfriend was gutted because he lives down there but was visiting me for the weekend! I have no idea what I would do if I saw Jay Z just chilling at Waterloo!!!! I saw him and Kanye West a couple of years ago and was one of the best nights ever, he is such a good performer and how he raps like that live is insane :) love this song and the music video is good as well, so I hope you enjoy this weeks pick :)

Week 2 and my pick this week is a song that my boyfriend has been playing on replay for the last 2 months or so! Whenever I catch myself singing it always seems to be this song as I think its now engrained into my brain :P I have to also say that its another depressing and I promise all my songs wont be this sad :P so the band Radiohead was first introduced to me by my dad when I was younger and I love so many of their songs, then this summer my boyfriend got into them and I started listening to some of their different songs and albums :) hopefully you enjoy and go check out more of their stuff! So this week is 'Videotape' by 'Radiohead' :)

So the first week...this was a hard one because I wanted it to be either a song about me or one of my personal favourites! 

I moved back to university a couple of weeks ago and people that know me will know I am a home bird and get really homesick when I first move back to university so the song I have picked has a couple of meanings. This is mine and my dads favourite song and every time I listen to it it reminds me of him :) its quite a depressing song however I love how meaningful it is and how it really does make you think about life.

My first song is from the 'Flaming Lips' and its called 'Do You Realise??'

I did my whole final art piece on this song in year 11! If you have never heard it go check it out and listen to the lyrics :)

 

So that's week one, I hope you have enjoyed my first song :) I'm excited to see this project develop and see what everyone else picks :)

Village Festival

Hello again,

Last night there was a small village festival on, my mum's work ReedBoardall sponsored it so we got some ticket. Even though it was raining we put on out rain coats and boots and walked over for the field to enjoy the fun. We had a covered area where the business had put food and drink on which was lovely and we could have a good old dance without getting wet. 

It was only a small event with around 300 people ranging from families with small children, up to group of adults having a good time. The first band came on and played for about an hour, all the kids were up dancing, at the point the rain was holding off. At about 9.30 the main act came on which was an ABBA tribute band. They were so good and played all the classic songs, I love ABBA so much, I've been Mammi Mai in London 2 times and have the sing along DVD :)

The rain did start at around 10 so we took cover again, everyone was up dancing and singing along to all the songs. Was a really nice night and lovely to have some silly time with my mum :)

After ABBA had finished there was a fire work display which went on forever, was a really good show and went to some music (even if it was a little out :P)

I had the best night, even with the rain. The music, dancing and fireworks were just so good, I can't wait for next years already :)
