Tour de France

Hello my lovelies, 

So the Tour de France came to Yorkshire this weekend which just happens to be where I live so I was lucky enough to watch and experience the event!

I have never seen Harrogate so busy which was were we watched it on the first day. We were about 200m from the finish line and watched it on the large screens as we couldn't get anywhere near to actually watch them. However the atmosphere was just amazing and was great to witness such a massive event in my home town :)

Some kid climbed a tree behind us to get a better view of the race, and even Percy Pig made an appearance

On the second day we went to Knarsborough to watch the race where this time I actually saw the bikes and support teams. We were stood in front of the house which had place red spots on it to look like the King of the Mountains jersey. Once again the atmosphere was incredible with everyone cheering each van which came through :)

All around the towns and villages there was bunting and yellow bikes lining the route. This knitted bunting was everywhere which I thought was so cute and made everywhere look really nice. 

I also got into the spirt with my nails painted in the jersey colours and with a English flag as you can see below and on the other hand I had a french flag.

I had such an amazing weekend and was so pleased that I was able to watch such a massive event and so proud that it happened in my local area :)

Harrogate flower show

Hello again my sweets :)

Before I went back to uni, me and my parents went to the Harrogate Flower Show. Before we went I wasn't to sure what to expect or what was going to be there! However I really enjoyed the day and properly bought me stuff then my parents did :P this post is mainly photos, there was so much going on at the show this is just a selection of things that caught my eye :)

The photo below is a garden made out of recycled materials. It was full of colour and definitely original :) was a really great idea and the ladies at the show said they would come and introduce some of their ideas into your garden :)

It's not just flowers at the show, there is also a craft tent and food court. This lady was drawing her pet spaniel with colored pencil and I just thought it was amazing that she could do that in front of 100's of people!!

I have never seen vegetables as big as the once here! These where just a few but there were marrows as big as me and onions the size of my head. 

There were just a few of things I bought on the day :) I have been looking for a white bird cage for a while and these were everywhere over the show. The one below cost me £10 which I thought was a bargain as the ones I had been online where a lot more pricey. The plant was more of an impulse buy, I have never seen one that flowers like this, though it was a bit different and look great in the garden :)

Even though I was the youngest by a good 40 years :P I had a great day and there was so much to see and gave me more of a passion about gardens and different ideas for decoration :) I would really recommend if you have a local show to go visit and see what its about. The Harrogate show is a massive one so your locals ones might not be as big but its a lovely day out :)

Wimbeldon on the Stray

Hello again, 

 Yesterday was the final of the men’s Wimbledon tennis and as Andy Murray was playing me and my friends went down to the Stray in Harrogate where it was being shown on large screens outside. The Stray is just a large area of grass which surrounds Harrogate and as the weather was perfect who wouldn’t want to be outside in the sun watching Murray in the final :) 

 The quality of the screen wasn’t great, you couldn’t really see the ball and at times it was hard to tell who was who! However, the atmosphere was great and everyone was rooting for Murray and cheering along :) it really was the perfect day out with friends and family. The sun was out throughout the whole game so I have to admit I did get a little sun burnt!

 I really enjoyed the experience and would absolutely go back next year because it was just a really good way of watching the match with all friends. 

 A local news reporter filmed some of the crowd and when Murray won you can see how pleased everyone was and it was the perfect end to a lovely weekend :)

After the match we went back to my friends house and had a BBQ and a few drinks to celebrate, this mainly consisted of games of football and volleyball as well as catching up and eating :) one of my friends brought a bottle of champagne which had a Wimbledon jacket on which I thought was just so cool and shows how big Wimbledon really is!
