London Haul

Hello again my sweets,

Last week I had a reading week for uni so treated myself to a long weekend in London visiting my boyfriend :) I had such a lovely time and was nice to spend some proper time together :)
As I was in London we had to go for a shopping day and I spoilt myself and bought some things I have wanted for ages!!

My favourite street is Carnaby Street and it made me very happy that the Christmas decorations were up, I love it in cities when everything looks so festive :)

If you saw my university room tour you will have seen my collection of Dunny's on my window sill! As we walked passed Forbidden Planet it would be rude of me not to buy another :P I bought one from the 2012 collection and Matty bought one from the Apocalypse which he kindly gave to me, I have been really lucky that I haven't picked the same one twice as its completely random which one you get :) I really like these two as they are really colourful but really different!

I have been on the hunt for a really nice purple lipstick for winter and we went into a MAC store and I just fell in love with this colour. Its called 'Rebel' and is a pinky purple tone, not as dark as I was orginally wanting but I think its more wearable and suits me more :) I think this and my dark red will be my go to lipsticks for the next couple of months! One thing that did shock me is MAC lipsticks are now £15!! When did that happen??

Johnny Cupcakes is one of my favourite places to visit in London, they always have the coolest tshirts and sweaters! I bought a top when I was last in London but I have been wanting the classic sweater for ages now so I bite the bullet and got it :) it is the comfiest jumper I have and I have just totally fallen in love :) its a bit to big but that's how I wanted it to be as I love baggy jumpers!!

We had both heard great things about a burger place in Covent Gardens so we thought we would try it out and have an early dinner there! We weren't to sure what it was called but found it out it was shake shack! I have to say it was so nice and so filling, I practically had to roll back :) it was set out as a take out service so you order at the counter and picked up from a window and took it to your seat. The burgers were amazing and the cheesy chips were so good :) we didn't try the special drinks they did but they sounds amazing and think I might try one next time we are around Convent Gardens :)

I love London and want to make the most of it when Matty's at university there so think I will be having a lot of trips there in the next couple of years :)

Any places you would recommend us visiting in London?

For week 6 I have picked Little Comets, I feel in love with this band when I met them at Culture Shock around 7 years ago! They were just the nicest lads and I remember dancing around in the crowd to this song :) I love all their songs and hopefully seeing them again next February which should be amazing!!

For week 7 I have chosen London Grammar, my flatmates are in love with them and have started getting me into them more :) also thought as I have been in London the past couple of days it was be good timing to add them in now :) really enjoyed listening to their music and getting more into it!

Both bands have done so well to take off and really hope you enjoy listening to them

Liz Earle Skin Care Pack

Hello again my sweets,

Before I went back to university in September I treated myself to this Liz Earle skincare essentials pack. There was one for dry skin and one for oily. I went for the dry because as winter is upon us my skin really does suffer from it so I thought the dry would be best at saving it :)

The pack cost around £50 and in it you received their famous Cleanse and Polish with Hot Clothes, Skin Tonic, Repair Moisturiser and two small testers of their body wash and body cream :) all the products smell amazing and really fresh which I love! When I use them in the morning they wake me up and set me up for the day! Since using them I have really seen a change in my skin and its haven't been as affect by the cold weather like it was last year!

I forgot to include one of the small testers in the photo because it was in my other skin care bag! I love that it comes with its own carry case so when I go somewhere for weekends I can just put everything I need in it and its all together :) I have fallen in love with all the products but I have to say I think the cleanse polish and skin tonic are my favourite :)

At the moment they are doing Christmas packages which are very similar to this one and I think the same price just come in more of a Christmas form, so if you like the sound of this go check that out :)

What's your favourite Liz Earle product?

Great British Bake Off

Hello again my sweets,

I can't believe its November today, but I have to say I am very excited for Christmas :D

Last weekend I went home and as me and mum always do we did some baking :) so I thought I would show you some of the creations we made! I have to also admit that they were all consumed by my family because they were so good :)

The first thing we made was Cheese scones for breakfast :) I made fruit scones all the time at work and would admit I have mastered the art of them but never made cheese scones! We put so much cheese inside them and they were cooked to perfection :P and have so say a great way to start the day with lots of butter :)

We didn't want to bake any cakes because we never eat them all so thought cookies and biscuits would be the way forward :) these were just simple chocolate drop cookies but we put Terry's chocolate orange in them which I have to say really did make them :P We baked them on a large tray but when they came out they had just turned into one massive cookie so that's why they looked a bit hacked but just proves they really are homemade cookies!

Mum loves peanut butter and I have just started to eating it as well so we thought we would make some simple peanut butter squares which just really consist of peanut butter, icing sugar and chocolate :P and as you can guess this made them pretty sicky sweet so we couldn't really eat a lot of it without feeling ill :P the mixture also got stuck to the glass contained so these also look very home made :P

My boyfriend came over on the Sunday so we just bought a Ginger bread man kit from Morrisons and baked them as they are one of his favourite things :) saying it was a bought mix it was really nice and I think they turned out well! I had some problems cutting and transferring them onto the tray but for first timers it went well :) I would like to point out that my Boyfriend is doing Illustration at university but I was better at icing them :P

If you want any of the recipes just ask and I will find them out from my mum because I would recommend all of them :)

What's your favourite thing to bake? Which do you like to look of out of the ones we cooked?
