Tiffany & Co Silver Polish

Hello again my sweets,

For some reason whenever I wear silver it always tarnishes really quickly. I first noticed this then I was given a Tiffany's necklace for my 16th birthday. Even though I didn't wear it a lot, I still found it went dull then the back tarnished! For my 18th birthday my boyfriend bought me a silver ring which I wear everyday, from a week of wearing it the edges were black! I researched it and they said either it was a fake which I know it wasn't or my skin reacts which silver! This did make sense as it had happened before and I already knew I had acid problems which is what would be reacting with the metal.

I went to my local town and just bought some silver solution and wipes, however they did nothing! If anything they took the shin away but the tarnish was still there :/ the next time I was in a Tiffany's store I asked them to clean all my jewellery and they looked like new again. I asked what they cleaned it with and they gave me this polish!

I cleaned all my silver when it when black and it was a miracle! All you need is some cotton pads and it just comes straight off, I was so pleased as nothing had worked before hand and this was just so quick and easy!!

So I have to admit I am in love with this, I wear quite a lot of silver so this has been a life saver! Even if your jewellery doesn't tarnish easily I would still recommend this because it brings back the shin and makes them look brand new :) the only negative to this is you cant use it on stones like diamonds, so if you can a diamond ring be every careful or look for something else.

Do you have the same problem as me with silver?

Liebster Blog Award

Hello again my sweets :)

So yesterday I was nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by CandlesAndCurls :) she has just started blogging like me and has some really good posts so go check her out :) would also like to say a massive thank you to her because she really did make my day!! The Liebster Award is away of people finding blogs and to get them noticed by a wider audience :) I have seen some of the blogs I follow have already been nominated for the award and I thought it was such a good idea for people to be find and also encourage smaller blogs like mine to keep going :)

Candles and Curls came up with 11 questions to ask all of her nominees, so I will prosed to answer them, then show my nominees and the questions I would like to ask them :)

1. What made you start blogging?
I started my blog as a way of documenting my experiences and just general things that were happening in my life, however when I started reading blogs and getting more into it I started including product reviews and making my little bloging space about everything I love :) I didn't want to narrow my blog to a particular area like lifestyle or make-up because I enjoy writing about it all :)

2. When did you start blogging?
I published my first every post on the 15th of April 2013 and it was on my 6th Gear Experience were I drove a Lamborghini LP560 and I have to say I wish all my poster were about amazing cars I had drove :P if you would like to read that post you can find it here :)

4. Shorts or skirts?
I would have to say skirts, for once England has had an alright summer and I have just been in love with my maxi skirts! I don't really like my legs so find maxi skirts the perfect option :) I also wear skirts out more then shorts on holiday and night out

5. High street or high end?
For clothes I would say high street, fashion changes so much and high end is so expensive I would never bring myself to spend that much on something, however I do love high end make-up and treating myself once and a while (maybe more) to some expensive make-up :) I also adore Mulberry handbags and if I could I would have them all!

6. What is your best piece of advice for new bloggers?
Blog the things you are passionate about and the things you would like to read! Don't blog for the sake of it or about something you thing you should because someone else has because you wont enjoy that and the whole point of blogs are to enjoy them :) I would also say dont get hung up if you haven't posted in a while, just do it about your own pace :)

7. What is your favourite TV show?
New Girl, How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, 90210, Wild Life Documentary's :) so quite a mix :P

8. Topshop or River Island?
If you had asked me this last year I would have said River Island as I thought they were better quality and not as expensive, however for some reason I don't really think that any more  I think Topshop caters for a wider range of styles whereas River Island have gone a bit strange for my liking :P

9. Favourite party outfit?
Depends on my mood and where we are going but normally a black dress or leather style leggings and a nice top! When it comes to heels, I will wear them for a posh night otherwise its flats all the way!!

10. Night in or night out?
As a student I feel like I should say night out but the truth is night in :P I would much prefer a night in watching a film with family, friends or the boyfriend and be nice and comfy :P I am definitely say I'm not a proper student, but when I'm at uni I normally go out once a week which I don't think is too bad

11. Your favourite blog post that you have written?
This is a hard question as I enjoy writing all of them, I do love reviewing my make-up however I would say my favourite to write are the more personal/lifestyle ones :) the once that have come to mind are my Dyslexia post as it was very personal but I wanted people to know about it and to help others that have it! Also my pet Terrapin Duncan post :) I will be doing a more updated one of these when he moves to his new home in my uni flat!

I really enjoyed answering them questions, there were some really good ones :) so now it comes to my part of the post! First I will explain the rules then my questions and the blogs I would like to nominate :)

These are the rules of the Liebster Blog Award:

If you have been nominated for The Liebster Award and you choose to accept it, write a blog post about the Liebster award in which you:

2. Display the award on your blog
3. Answer 11 questions about yourself, which are provided to you by the person who nominated you.
4. Provide 11 random facts about yourself.
5. Nominate 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 1000 followers.
6. Create a new list of questions for the blogger to answer.
7. List these rules in your post. (You can copy and paste them from here.)
8. Once you have written your post, and published it, you then have to inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it!)

These are my nominations:
1) Rena from Kiss and Make Up

10) Birgitta from Everything and Nothing

My questions are:
1) Where did your blog name come from?
2) What if your favourite meal?
3) Favourite blog you follow at the moment?
4) Who inspires you? (Doesn't have to be a blogger, just in general)
5) MAC or NARs
6) Favourite animal?
7) Most repurchased product?
8) What advise would you give to other bloggers?
9) What type of posts do you like to read?

Really looking forwards to reading everyone's responses :) one last thank you to Candles and Curls and make sure you check out her blog :)

Edinburgh Festival

Hello again my sweets :)

A couple of weeks ago I went to Edinburgh Festival for the day, I love the city but it really comes to life when the festival is on :) we didn't see any shows in venues, just watched the street performers as we walked round because there is so much going on, my favourite area was the top of the Royal Mile as their was so much happening and some really cute little stalls :) as you can see in the picture below I really was a big kid in a sweet store!

As we drove home we went through Sea Houses for some fish and chips, however I don't like fish so got a sausage instead! Was really good, worth the diversion :P

Ever been to Edinburgh Festival?

Disappointing Products

Hello again my sweets :)

I hate it when I buy something I have really wanted to try and it turns out I don't like it or it's not what I expect!! So this is just my opinion on some products I haven't loved.

I bought the Rimmel primer because I hadn't tried one before and this was the cheapest one I could find, this product shows that cheap isn't always the best way! I didn't like how it felt on my face and didn't think it really did any of the things it says on the bottle. For my first experience of primers I didn't understand the hype! The second product is the Me Me Me flawless concealer, my first problem was the colour, it was to light which I know was my fault :P however it's really thin and doesn't really conceal anything, I found it really hard to make it blend into my foundation and look natural. The brush was one from SuperDrug, I think it's their own brand. It didn't pick up product and had impossible to apply my conceal evenly or anything! I used it one and never again!

I think the most disappointing was the YSL French manicure set, my Dad bought me this as a treat because I had really wanted it but it was to expensive for me to buy at the time. The tip isn't to bad but doesn't apply a think enough layer, the worse thing was the Pastel Rose, when I put it over the top it took some of the white off and then the brush became all sticky and the polish wouldn't come out any more. I was really upset when I didn't get the results I thought I would as it had been a gift :(
I love liquid eye liner, I wear it most days however I have tried these two felt tip ones and both end up transferring on top of my lid, doesn't matter how thin I draw the line it always happens! Not sure if it was just these two pens or felt tips that don't like me!

Everyone knows about the famous 'BeautyBlender' sponge, I didn't want to fork out £20 for the real one just in case I didn't like it so bought a pack of 4 dupes from Amazon for about £5, I found them really hard even after wetting and that they just took in the foundation instead on blending it round my face! Not sure if it was because they were cheap but they have put me off trying the original one.

The last product are these nail polishes I bought from Next, they were £2.50 each and me and my Mum wanted to try out the Suede effect and we liked these 3 colours. The main reason I didn't like these was the actual Suede effect, I didn't like how they looked dull on the nail, I like my polishes super shiny :) I found they also chip easily!

What are your disappointing products? Tried any of these?

Hickory's Smokehouse

Hello again my sweets,

When me and my parents when for a week away from the UK we popped into Chester to try out this restaurant we heard about. We were in Gloucester and as we drove back to Yorkshire we had a 'mini' detour to Chester for the afternoon :) mum and dad had been to the sister restaurant and loved it so wanted to take me here and try this one out :)

It faces the river to you can watch the rowers go by as you eat, its such a lovely setting and such a peaceful area :)

We were shown to our table which was a booth in the corner, the restaurant looked like a tradition American burger bar :) we sat down and the waitress brought over a bowl of popcorn which I really loved, something different and a nice little touch :)

As it was a smoke house most of the menu was either ribs or steak! As a massive steak lover this made me very happy :) mum and dad got s selection of ribs, beef and chilli which they shared. I tried a couple of things off theirs but it wasn't my cup of tea as I'm not the biggest fan of ribs! However I order Ribeye Steak which came with peppercorn sauce and  massive onion rings !! The steak was amazing, when it came I have to admit I thought it was a bit small but that's only because I can eat steak likes there no tomorrow! I'm glad it was that size in the end because it was such good quality and tasted amazing :)

Another cute little feature I liked was their home made drinks! My mum ordered one of their ice teas and it came in this little jam jar which was really sweet! Also it was one of the best ice teas I have ever tasted, it was full of flavour which some normally taste just like water!

I couldn't resist the pudding list and there was so much I could have ordered but I got this which was the Mississippi mud pie! The chocolate was so rich and yummy, its safe to say I had most round my mouth (yes I am a big child :P)

After the meal we walked down the river and watched the local rowing team which was a really nice way to end the day :) I think the detour was worth it because the smoke house was really nice and I would love to try the other one like my parents did :) if your close by or want to treat a new place I would recommend this place as long as you love meat :P

Which restaurant would you recommend?

August GlossyBox - High Flyers

Hello again my sweets,

On Saturday I came home from a very busy and hard day at work to find a little surprise for me! It was this months GlossyBox, I love getting a little present every month and not knowing what will be in the box this time :) this months was called 'High Flyers' and all the products inside are from different parts of the world :) I really like the theme and that it allows you to try products which you might not normally be able to get your hands on! The only down side to this theme is it reminded me that I haven't been away this year :( please someone take me somewhere hot for a week, pretty please :P

When I opened the box I noticed it was a lot lighter then the other boxes I have received so I new they would be small items or sample sizes. The booklet that come with each box are really useful and have great little descriptions of of each item :) I have to say once again I really like the box and think I will use all the items :)

Emite Eyelash Curlers - These are from Sweden and been designed by make-up artists to suit all eye shapes. I can never bring myself to buy expensive eyelash curlers because I am never sure if they are really worth it so I'm excited to try these out and see the difference between my cheap ones :) - £20

Tresemme Keratin Smooth - This brand if from the USA and says to be a shot of concentrated treatment to restore your hair. You apply to damaged hair but avoiding roots. I really don't look after my hair enough as I should so hair products are always welcome :P I really hope this works because my hair is in need of a good treatment! - £1.49

Oceane Make-up Remover Pen - This isn't available in the UK yet and is from Brazil. Its designed to touch up make-up throughout the day and remove any small mistakes you might make when applying in the morning :) it comes with 3 extra nibs so hopefully will last a while! I have never used a product like this but can see it coming is handy as I always mess up on lipstick and eye liner! - £unknown

Urban Veda Skin Care - This range is based on principles found in Indian, the tester I was given was the purifying day cream, I do love trying out new creams and face care however in my June box I received a day cream so think a different tester might have been more beneficial and better for me to try out. The brand does look good and says it protects your skin from the environment so will be nice to try it out. - Full size £7.99

Jelly Pong Pong Eye Liner - I have never used anything from jelly pong pong but I have heard great things from them, they are a UK brand and I love their packaging for their products :) mine was the black liner and it looks like they do a couple more different colours! I'm pleased mine was black because I always wear black liner and never used one like this before. This is a two in one product as you can also smudge it out as an eye shadow :) - £10.50

So once again GlossyBox has delivered, it's really strange to thing I'm half way through my 6 month subscription. At the moment I do think I'll be asking for it again at Christmas :)

Are you subscribed to anything like GlossyBox?
If so let me know and what you received :)

The Paddocks

Hello again my sweets :)

First of all I would like to just say sorry for my absence over the last week! I have been travelling round the UK with my parents seeing family friends and everywhere we went had no internet :( however it does mean I have some different lifestyle posts coming your way which I hope you enjoy :)

The first stop of our travels was my dads friends farm in Gloucester, as you have have gathered from past posts I adore animals and love just being around them, so this was ideal for me and I loved staying there! As you can see its a massive farm house and they have out buildings which they converted into accommodation for holiday makers and business conferences.

When we arrived we had Sunday dinner which was one of the nicest Sunday dinners I've had (apart from my mums :P), the meat and veg were from the farm we were staying at which I liked because you knew everything was local and good quality :)

This farm isn't a traditional farm, they have some different and unusual animals which made it more fun because I got to meet and learn about animals I wouldn't normally be able to get so close to! I did take pictures of all the animals but as they had over 150 I thought that might be too many to put in a blog :P I picked a selection of animals to show you! My favourites were the Great Danes which really are the biggest dogs and the nicest nature, Zipper the Zebra which I didn't get a picture of but I had a little stroke which I loved because there aren't going to be many times I will be able to get that close again to one! Also Reindeer for the same reason, I fed them and just stroked their antlers, they are really beautiful animals :)

These are micro pigs, the top picture was the mum and these are the piglets, I loved just sitting with them because they are really nosey! I always thought they were a lot smaller than this and I think this is why some people cant cope with them as pets because they are big pets and still farm animals.

Meet Shonkey, she is a Shetland cross with a Donkey, just thought the name of her was so cute :)

Last but not least is Jake and Ben the Great Danes, these dogs I fell in love with straight away, they are so sweet and loving, as you can see they are massive but the picture doesn't do them justice!

I also wanted to include some pictures of the accommodation because holiday makers can go and stay and I wanted to show you how good quality the lodges were, they have several and they are all different! All are called after an animal on the farm, ours was 'The Cockerel' and  my mum came away with so many ideas for our house because they are so original :)

So if this is your kind of thing and you want a short break away in the UK I would recommend this place, there are lovely walks all around and you can get as much involved with the animals as you like :) there is a website you can have more of a look here and Lindsay's own website here which is more for business bookings but shows you the animals :P

Ever stayed anywhere like this? Or do you have any recommendations for short stay holidays?

Mystery Selection - Illamasque

Hello again my sweets,

I have been a very lucky girl and won this Illamasque mystery eye and nails selection :) the lovely ladies at Beauties Unlocked had a give away for reaching 200 followers, go check their blog out, they are really lovely and have some great beauty tips!! I entered because I don't own any Illamasque and thought why not :) as with most things I enter I just forget about them because I have no luck and never win! However, I was wondering round my local town and received an email from Lisa and Carrieanna staying I had won and I was so excited and did a little dance (yes people stared!)

So the post came on Monday and the postman handed my this box shape parcel and I knew straight away what it was!! I ripped it open and found a really sweet note from the girls and this lovely box with 6 full size Illamasque products :)

The packaging it came in was very luxurious with gold writing and the outline of the mystery products :) You don't know what you have until you open it up! All you know is there will be 2 eye shadows and 2 nail polishes :) the other two items are already known :)

So in this box of goodies there was the 2 products already know which were the Liquid metal eye shadow base in Electrum and Precision Ink in Glister! The two eye shadows are Shiver and Fiasco and the polishes are Shrapnel and Faux Pas :) I have to say I love everything which I think is really good saying I didn't pick anything so think I have been extra lucky!

I have worn this all week and that's why they are a little chipped in the picture but to say I have worn them since last Monday I think this pretty good :) I also didn't apply a top coat because I wanted to see how long they lasted without one! The shimmery orange one is so pretty and perfect for a summer colour, I haven't worn it on its own yet so might be be a bit much on all nails but will soon find out :) the purple is a matte purple, I don't have any matte polishes so this was lovely to try. I normally like my nails nice and shiny but I have to say I love the matte effect :) both of these are so lovely and very easy to apply, I applied 2 coats to achieve the full colour! Love them both and they look so nice in my collection.

I have been testing these out all week, the blue wouldn't have been a colour I would have chosen but I think that adds to the experience as you get to experiment with different colours! The white shimmery colour looks lovely all over the lid but also as a pretty highlight :) they are really nicely pigmented and have great staying power!

These were the 2 products that were in every box :) the gold shadow is a creme shadow and is so pigmented and looks so lovely as a night eye, on its own or as a base it provides a nice strong colour and a bit of glitter :P its also really good to blend out if you don't want a really strong colour! However, I think the biggest surprise for me was how much I love this liner!! I haven't been wearing shadow to much on my lids and just a thin line of black, so with this I just apply the glitter above the black and makes the eyes a bit more special :) the liner was so easy to apply I think I might see what other colours they have :)

Overall I love all these products and have had so much fun testing them out :) I can't thank Lisa and Carrieanna enough for this give away!! They also have twitter which is linked here if you want to also follow them :)

I am now a very proud owner of Illamasque :D

Have you ever won a give away? What's your favourite Illamasque product?

My Music Box

Hello again my sweets :)

Last week my boyfriend gave me a surprise gift as he had been away for the weekend with his dad and saw this and thought of me (how cute :P)

When we were in Indian last Easter we bought a wooden box with an engraved elephant on top, it was so pretty and its the one regrets I have because I didn't buy one for myself! Me being me I have then gone on about it for the last 18 months :P however now I have my own box and I have to say I think this one is better and I have fallen in love with it :)

It is a tradition Italian music box, the box itself does have some scraps and chips but I just think they add to the story behind it :)

He bought it for me because I wanted a jewellery box and added extra it was a music box, however when he gave it to me I turn it over and found out the song it plays is 'Torna a Sorrento' :) he hadn't realised this but one of my favourite places in the world is Sorrento, me and my family have been twice and I can't wait to go back in the future at some point :)

I wanted to use the box and for it not just be for decoration, so I have made it into my earring box :) I am very safe with my jewellery and don't really mix it up so I think this will be a good way to building a collection and having it next to my bed means ill change them more often :)

(My favourite earring of all time, I wear these most days)

I know this is a bit of a different post but I love when things are sentimental and have more meaning when you look into them :) I know this will be a box I keep forever :)

What's your most sentimental thing?
